Scheduled - Flow Mainnet will undergo a scheduled Height-Coordinated Upgrade (HCU).

This upgrade will use the new Zero-Downtime HCU method, which allows the network to be upgraded while transaction execution continues almost uninterrupted. No downtime is expected, though users may notice a brief impact lasting a few seconds during the upgrade window.

Previous HCUs resulted in approximately 8 to 9 minutes of downtime. This new method significantly reduces that impact.

We will monitor the network closely throughout the upgrade.

Monitoring - The root cause of the issue has been resolved, and block production has resumed, though it is currently progressing slowly. Consensus node operators are actively upgrading their nodes, and once a majority of the consensus nodes in the network have completed the update, block sealing is expected to return to normal performance.

Identified - Flow is still in maintenance as the team works to restore full operations. The issue was caused by an incomplete node update in preparation for tomorrow’s height coordinated upgrade, which triggered a consensus safety mechanism that halted block sealing. Flow engineers are actively working on a fix, and the next update will be shared at 10 PM PT.

Scheduled - We will be testing a zero-downtime height coordinated upgrade on Testnet.

Zero-downtime upgrade is a new network feature that allows the network to perform a height coordinated upgrade without pausing transaction execution.

There are no changes to node software and no action is required from node operators.

This test has no impact on Mainnet.
